Herzliche Einladung zu einer performativen & partizipativen Führung im Weltmuseum Wien, die im Rahmen des künstlerischen Seminars „Feldforschung im Weltmuseum Wien“ entstanden ist.

CRACKS RISSE VOIDS performative & partizipative Führung

Ausgehend von der Ausstellung Die Farben der Erde - Moderne Textilkunst in Mexiko untersuchen wir die Schausammlung des Museums: Welche Geschichten werden erzählt und welche werden ausgelassen? Welche sind noch unerhört? Welche können wir hinzufügen?

Wo gibt es Sprünge? Wo gibt es Risse?
Wir blicken in diese Spalten und tauchen ein in die Abgründe der Leerstellen.

Dieses Vermittlungsformat wurde im künstlerischen Seminar Feldforschung im Weltmuseum Wien von Loki Lotta Karim Omran, Anja Strastil, Niklas Wolf und Hui Zhu, Studierenden der Klasse für Kunst und Kommunikative Praxis (Institut für Kunstwissenschaften, Kunstpädagogik und Kunstvermittlung) und des PhD-Programms an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien, entwickelt.
Unter Verwendung künstlerischer Methoden setzt sich das Seminar – Leitung: Univ.-Lekt. Magª.art. Nicole Miltner – kritisch mit ethnologischen Sammlungen im Allgemeinen und der Sammlung des Weltmuseum Wien im Besonderen auseinander.

CRACKS RISSE VOIDS performative & participatory tour


Starting from the exhibition The Colors of the Earth - Modern Textile Art in Mexico, we examine the museum's permanent exhibition: Which stories are told, and which ones are left out? Which ones are still unheard? Which ones can we add?

Where are the crevices? Where are the cracks?
We take a close look into these gaps and dive into the abyss of the void.
This mediation format was developed in the artistic seminar Field Research at the Weltmuseum Wien by Loki Lotta Karim Omran, Anja Strastil, Niklas Wolf and Hui Zhu, students of the Class for Art and Communication Practices (Institute of Studies in Art and Art Education) and the PhD Programme at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

Using artistic methods, the seminar – led by Univ.-Lekt. Magª.art. Nicole Miltner – critically deals with ethnological collections in general and the Weltmuseum Wien collection in particular.
